2. How does toll-free texting work?
Toll-free texting is just like regular texting, except the texts comes from an 800 number. Your toll-free number will be your main SendHub number that can send and receive texts and calls. If you would like to keep your existing SendHub number and just have the ability to toggle on toll-free when you want to use it, we can also work that out for you. 3. How is toll-free texting different than short code and long code texting?
Toll-free texting is similar to long code texting except that you can send mass texts with a toll-free number. While toll-free numbers and long condes are 10-digit numbers, short codes are 5-6 digit numbers. Toll-free numbers are often preferred over short codes because you can guarantee responses. Additionally, short codes are good for mass texting campaigns just like toll-free numbers, but short codes cannot receive phone calls.
4. Can I keep my existing 800 number pre-approved for mass texting?
Yes, if you have an existing toll-free number either with SendHub or another provider, we can get your number pre-approved for high volume texting. You will need to get on a SendHub payment plan that includes the special toll-free number and it could take a few weeks to complete the process.
5. Can I send MMS from my special toll-free number?
Yes, you can now send MMS from a special toll-free number. Contact SendHub Sales today to upgrade to a plan that includes our special toll-free numbers and MMS. Please know that not all toll-free numbers are created equally. If you want to send MMS over a toll-free line, please be sure to tell your sales representative that you need a "special" toll-free number.
