Unfortunately, the receiving carriers do not allow cannabis-related content to be sent to their customers, which are your recipients. Even though cannabis is legal in many states across the country, it remains federally illegal - making it one of the main reasons why carriers do not allow it to be marketed through text messaging.
At SendHub, we always want to ensure that our customers remain SMS compliant to ensure that they never face any legal action or trouble. Compliance rules and regulations can be found in detail through the CTIA Shortcode Monitoring Handbook and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.
It is stated within section A.4 of The CTIA Shortcode Monitoring Handbook that,
No programs associated with carrier brands or operating on the carrier networks may promote unapproved or illicit content, including the following:
Depictions or endorsements of violence,
Adult or otherwise inappropriate content,
Profanity or hate speech, and
Endorsements of illegal or illicit drugs
Hemp & CBD Accounts
Our carriers also do not allow Hemp and CBD products to be marketed through SendHub as they are derived from cannabis. Even if your Hemp or CBD product is federally legal and contains no THC, it is likely that our carriers will automatically mark your account as spam - sadly, this policy is out of SendHubs control.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may bring you and your business - we don't make these rules, but we wish you the best of luck.
