SendHub's SMS Calculator will help you see how many segments your message will be as you type it into the SendHub platform. Please keep in mind that if you are not on an outbound MMS plan and you attach an image, your image will be sent as a media URL. The characters in the media URL will count toward the character limit, but will not reflect on the SMS calculator. If you are on an outbound MMS plan and you attach an image, your message will only be one segment regardless of the length of the message.
When texting 25 or more people on a long code or special toll-free number, "Text STOP to End" will automatically be added to your text message to help keep you compliant. When this is inserted in your text message, it will add an additional 16 characters to your text that may not appear on the SMS calculator.
The SMS calculator is not yet available on our mobile apps.

You can also copy and paste the text you're attempting to send on this third-party link to help predict the number of segments in your message before you send it. This third-party tool will also help you detect which character is switching your message from GSM to Unicode. Make sure the option 'auto' is selected. The 'SMS Segments' number is the amount of messages you will use when sending that specific message to one contact.
SendHub charges for each segment just as the carriers charge SendHub for each segment. The price for a long messages will be the sum of all the segmented messages per recipient. To view the total sum of all the messages for your current billing cycle, including the segmented messages, click the Cog Wheel icon in the top right-hand side of your SendHub account and select “My Settings”. Scroll down to the “Plan” section where it will show how many messages / segments have been used and how many are remaining if you have a package plan in your current billing cycle. Please keep in mind that inbound messages can also be segmented.
If you would like to download your data or see specific SMS segmenting information, you can do so on the Analytics page on SendHub's web-based application.
Note: If you copy your message from an external application of SendHub and past it into SendHub's web-based application, you need to make sure you click the space bar so that the SMS calculator registers correctly. If you see that the messages says "UNI" it's possible that your font that you copied in is using Unicode. This is why it is best to type out your message right into SendHub without pasting it in from somewhere else.
Smart punctuation is another thing to note. If you are messaging from one of our mobile apps there is not an SMS calculator to help you identify segmenting. If you want to send messages from the iOS application, please be sure to disable your Smart Punctuation on your device's settings.
