There are two ways to receive messages to your SendHub phone number:
1. Check messages in your Messages inbox
2. Set up message forwarding to forward messages to any mobile number.
If you would like to disable incoming messages to prevent people from sending text messages to your SendHub number:
- Navigate to “My Settings” by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner
- Scroll down to “Message Settings”
- Click the checkbox next to “Disable Incoming Messages”. You can undo this setting at any time simply by unchecking that box.
If you would like to include a message (auto-response) that automatically gets sent back to anyone who sends a text message to your SendHub number:
- Navigate to “My Settings” by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner
- Scroll down to “Message Settings”
- Type the text you want to automatically respond with in the text field under “Auto-Response to incoming messages”
Note: The auto response message will only be sent once per day, not every time a message is sent from the sender
Receiving messages inside your browser
To check text messages that people send to your SendHub number, navigate to your Inbox by clicking the “Messages” section in the menu on the left side of the screen.
In your Inbox, unread messages will have a white background and a small green dot next to the phone number or contact name. Messages you’ve already read will be greyed out.
To read the entire message thread, simply click on the most recent message.
Setting up message forwarding
SendHub lets you forward incoming text messages to any mobile phone number you control.
To set up message forwarding:
- Go to your "Account Settings" by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting "My Settings."
- Scroll down to the "Message Settings" section and look for the "Devices and Forwarding" sub-section.
- Click the checkbox next to "Forward incoming messages"
- If you'd like to forward calls to the mobile phone number you used to sign up for SendHub, click the box next to that number select it
- If you'd like to add another mobile number to forward messages, click the "Add New Number" link. You'll have to confirm that you control this phone number, and can do this with either a verification text message or phone call
Once message forwarding is set up and turned on, any messages that come to your SendHub virtual phone number will be sent to your forwarding number. You'll still be able to access your Threads in SendHub, but they will show up as “Read.”
