1.What is a short code and what are the benefits?
Our short codes can send 100 messages per second in contrast to long code, which can only send 1 messages per second. They are useful for any application that expects to handle a very substantial volume of text messages or for anyone with a group larger than 250 people. Not only that but short code is a unique 5 digit number specifically for your business, making your SMS messages stand out and heighten brand identity
2. What is the difference between vanity and random short code?
A vanity short code would be a 5-6 digit number that you choose and a random would be a 5-6 digit number that is chosen for you. Short code numbers are leased from a national registry and if you choose a vanity short code, we cannot guarantee it will be available.
3. How do I obtain a short code?
To get started on discussing short code contact our sales team. The process in obtaining a short code requires completing an 8-12 week application process with SendHub, which we will submit on your behalf.
4. I need help with the short code application, what do I do?
We're here to help! Our team will guide and assist you throughout the short code application process and be the liaison between you and the short code provider.
5. What information do I need to provide for the short code application?
Once you get connected with our sales team, our account managers will provide you with all of the necessary information needed for your short code application.
6. I don't know how to create a mock up for my short code advertisement, what do I do?
Our team will assist you in creating a mock up for the short code application. Additionally, a short code advertisement mock up is a call to action for your sms campaign in visual form for the short code provider.
7. How long does it take to receive my short code?
The application and potential approval process takes between 8-12 weeks. If you would like to port an existing short code number that process will take 8-12 weeks as well and then require you to fill out a short code application.
8. Why does the short code application require so much information?
Remaining compliant with all SMS short code rules and regulations is extremely important and it's the reason why the application process requires so much detail. Carriers need to make sure your business will adhere to all CTIA and TCPA regulations when sending messages. Sending marketing messages to unsolicited phone numbers and not being transparent about your SMS purposes is against the law and can result in major fines and suspension.

9. If I fill out an application is my short code guaranteed?
Unfortunately, no.
This is not up SendHub but rather the carriers - however, we will do our best in helping you succeed in having your short code request accepted.
10. Can I get a refund if my short code application isn't accepted?
We do not charge you for the short code fee until it is submitted to the carriers. Unfortunately, there is no refund if your application is not approved.
Please take this fact into consideration before starting your short code application and potentially consider SendHubs toll-free numbers instead if this is an issue.
11. What are the prices for short codes and how am I billed for my short code?
Pricing for short codes can be discussed with our sales team .
Charges for your dedicated short code are separate from your message subscription. While your messaging subscription is still monthly or annually, the short code subscription is billed quarterly or annually.
12. Is there an alternative cheaper option for high volume texting?
Yes! If short code doesn't seem like the right fit but high volume texting is still on your mind, we encourage purchasing a special toll-free number from SendHub. With a special toll-free number, you have your own branded line for high volume SMS as well as your one-on-one communication. The line is your own and you don't have to share it. Plus, a special toll-free number can also receive calls.
